摘要

Keeping construction mud and debris off public roads requires a commitment to cleaning tires before trucks leave a jobsite. In years past, this has caused environmental issues, as solids would clog stormwater inlets. It also created hazards when mud spewed onto highways, causing potential slick spots for other vehicles on the road. Today, drive-through solutions offer closed-loop systems that treat the water and separate the solids right on the construction site. "System manufacturers must innovate for superior performance," says Dennis Stanton, founder of Stanton Systems, the firm that introduced the closed-loop tire-washing concept in America in 1986. "With the right flocculent and conveyance system-and a really good washing system-you've got a home run."
