Construction starts in the Detroit metro area are expected to increase 8.4%, to $4.5 billion in 2018, according to Dodge Data & Analytics. Non-residential construction will see an 8.2% boost, rising to $1.9 billion from $1.8 billion, Dodge says. Starts in the residential market will have a slightly larger increase, up 8.6%, to $2.6 billion from $2.4 billion. The increase will primarily be due to a 10.8% increase in the single-housing sector.
