A Gauge I GWR 0-6-0 Collett Goods 2251 Class

Many readers will be familiar with The Project by the Gauge I Model Railway Association. This was described in booklet form in 1970 and was based on the LMS 4F. It is spirit fired with a single cylinder and slip eccentric valve gear. Many models have been made and run successfully and it is still very popular, being a good introduction into building a Gauge I locomotive. I have been helping with the production of edition 5 of the booklet. When the question of valve setting arose, there was some discussion in respect to the right way to do it.
