Machining the George Thomas Versatile Dividing Head Main Body

After 21 years ownership I traded in my 26 year-old Myford ML7-R for a brand new Connoisseur and found that the centre height from the top of the cross slide was 0.005" less. This meant that my George Thomas Versatile Dividing Head (VDH) main body would require replacing. I didn't feel confident that I could accurately machine this amount off the base, and anyway my measurement may not have been accurate enough.
