Having done some research into the Seco Snap-Tap threading system during the winter of 2012, prior to the Jacques Maurel articles 'Speed-up Threat Cutting Attachment' that appeared in the September and October 2013 issues of EIM, I did have one or two reservations about the solution Jacques arrived at. I was aware that I had some very tricky screwcutting coming up on my Fiat 702 tractor, namely the threads on the valve bonnets that seal the combustion chambers above the side valves, as well as the threads on the spark plugs. In both cases these parts demand that the thread stops at the base of the conical sealing face in each instance, with no margin for error.
