The advances in the nonlinear modelling of concrete structures have been recognizably important in the last decades, associated to the relevant improvements in numerical models in general, as well as to the increasing knowledge of the many physical phenomena involved in concrete performance. In this framework, the "International Conference on Recent Advances in Nonlinear Models - Structural Concrete Applications (CoRAN2011)", held during 24-25 November 2011 in Coimbra, Portugal, was designed to provide a forum for publicising the most relevant numerical models devised for structural concrete simulation, and to encourage its discussion.
