The Bi-fuel Technology: Future Opportunities In Reducing Energy Costs

This article technology that is currently avail- able on the commercial market and the benefits that consumers and natural gas utilities will be provided with. First, an explana- ion of the technology will introduce the concept of how the bi-fuel sys- tem allows natural gas to be used in place of diesel fuel on a 100 percent dedicated diesel engine. From the explanation of the technology, a finan- cial example will be used to provide costs, savings, and payback infor- mation of applying the bi-fuel system in conjunction with an electric chiller, with continuing information on the reliability, maintenance, and cost advantages for using the bi-fuel system.
