Central Building Utilities Metering Systems At Yale University

From the utility distribution standpoint, Yale University is divided into three areas: Central, Science and Medical School areas. The Medical School area consists of Yale School of Medicine (YSM), With its own management of operations and maintenance, and Yale New Haven Hospital (YNHH), an independent health care organization adja- Cent to or sharing space with YSM. Utilities in the Central and Science Areas-namely electrical, steam/condensate and chill water-are pro- Vided to the buildings from the Central Cogeneration Plant; steam and Chill water for YSM/YHNN are generated in the Sterling Power plant, And electricity is purchased from the local utility company, Untied Illu- Minating (UI). The Yale Utilities Department manages the respective Generation and distribution systems.
