Waste-to-Energy Incineration

摘要

This article provides an overview of industrial and municipal waste-to-energy incineration as an alternative to costly solid waste land- fill or to environmentally incorrect open dump disposal. Various tech- nologies and environmental considerations are described. Lessons learned from 25 years of incineration experience in the US and Europe are discussed. Two municipal case studies-economic models are pre- sented here. Additional industrial cases will follow in future articles.
