Algorithm of a computer program to determine the minimum number of plates in plate-type heat exchangers

The initial data given for thermal and hydraulic dimensioning of plate heat exchangers often do not result in the minimum number of plates because the plate-type heat exchangers with different geometry have different thermal and hydrau- lic characteristics. Therefore, the oversizing of plate-type heat ex- changers is frequent, which increases the investments unnecessarily.
