Elevator control valves and power units have come a long way in a relatively short period of time. Environmental factors and technological issues have mandated rapidly evolving design of hydraulic elevators, which, in turn, has necessitated the development of superior hydraulic control valves. Most companies are renewing efforts toward improved quality assurance and preventative maintenance of their manufacturing equipment, which will pay dividends for us all if we develop rigorous industry-wide standards and procedures to improve maintenance and service to customers, and by promoting thorough understanding of various issues.
