摘要

Passengers arrive densely when the elevator stochastic service system is in up peak. If the elevator keeps its door open shortly, it is advantageous for the next passenger to reduce waiting time although passengers already in the elevator will have a longer riding time. This article uses the Markov Queuing theory to study an elevator's staying strategies in up peak, that is, the minimum number of passengers that an elevator serves each time is called threshold. Threshold strategy can greatly reduce a passenger's waiting time and an elevator's stopping times. Simulation proves that threshold strategy can improve an elevator's dispatching performance.
