Twelve years ago, a group of NYC elevator consultants who were members of the National Association of Veerical Transportation Professionals - New York (NAVTP-NY) region got together to discuss the possibility of conduct-ing a boat cruise around lower Manhattan the proceeds of which might go to charity. It was readily recognized that such an event would fulfill a two-fold purpose. It would create an opportunity for NYC elevator industry members to interact in a casual social atmosphere as well as raise money for a worthwhile cause.
