摘要

The necessity for the computer simulation of lifts was foreseen by Jackson (1970), who wrote: "a real need... is a computer program to simulate the likely performance of proposed lift systems . . . Different numbers, speeds and groups of lifts should be considered, as well as different control systems . . . the results would show designers the performance of several proposals . . . [and allow] . . . rational decisions." In 1972, a public zone program, Personal Computer - Lift System Design (PC-LSD) was developed by Dos Santos at the University of Manchester and extended by others until 1985, when support and development ceased. Some 20 copies were distributed worldwide. A well-supported public-domain program (Elevate~(TM)) is now available, which provides very extensive facilities. Some 500 copies have been sold worldwide. Today, most lift companies and many consultants have calculation programs, and some have simulation programs. The information regarding their internal structure is not generally available. An example is KONE's simulation program.
