SAFETY PROGRAM FOR ELEVATOR USERS

A new safety program for elevator users, especially directed to school-age children but also appealing to adults, has been implemented in Brazil. It is a self-study program which uses colorful drawings and humorous short texts in posters to promote the safety message. The set of 11 8x12 posters, with texts in Portuguese, English and Spanish, explains the "whys" of each safety aspect. Developed by Servico de Inspecao de Elevadores (SIE), a Brazilian consulting company, this program is intended to be shown sequentially, i.e., the party responsible for running the program should display a poster a day, in a locale heavily trafficked by people and near the elevators. The first poster is an invitation to circulating persons to learn about safety, getting attention to the program and detailing where the next poster will be located, i.e., the same place as the first. What comes the next day?
