Power applications often suffer from output cable voltage drop. Taking a power adaptor as an example, the voltage drop is difficult to handle. Since the resistance of the cable is not part of the feedback loop circuit, for a long cable the voltage drop will be large and the consequent demand on output current too big. The output voltage drop will adversely affect system efficiency and stability.
