Raja meeting FM for STPI extension

Union Minister for Telecommunications and Information Technology, plans to meet the Finance Minister, Mr. P. Chidam-bram, to plead for the extension of software technology parks of India (STPI) scheme beyond 2009. Mr. Raja has decided to meet Mr. Chidambaram after the Finance Ministry did not respond to his proposal to extend the scheme, which is expiring in 2009. Earlier, in a letter to the Finance Ministry, Raja had sought extension of the scheme for a period of another 10 years. "I will meet the Finance Minister and then decide on the future course of action," Raja said.
