Bharat Electronics Ltd. (BEL), ha3 registered a turnover of Rs. 4,611 crore during 2008-09. The company reported a post-tax profit of Rs. 808.46 crore against Rs. 826.74 crore in the previous year. Exports amounted to $17.75 million compared to $15.43 million.rnThe company has paid a dividend of 207 per cent in 2007-08 and an interim dividend of 60 per cent in 2008-09.rnThe outgoing Chairman and Managing Director Mr. V. V. R. Sastry, while presenting the highlights of company's performance in the last year, said the company hoped to reduce its dependence on the defence sector, while planning diversification.
