London based GSM Association (GSMA), which represents the interests of the worldwid< mobile communications industry, has recently initiated two programmes to help expand the financial services using mobile phones.rnIn the first move, GSMA has joined hands with Visa Inc. to develop standards for mobile payments and handset-based money transfers.rnIn the other initiative, GSMA and Bill & Melinc Gates Foundation are partnering in a programrr that will expand the availability of financial services to millions of people in the developing world through mobile phones.
