IT hardware industry has sought incentives for exports of products such as desktops and notebooks. Hardware association MAIT has asked for two per cent duty benefit on free-on-board (FoB) value of exports, with regard to desktops and notebooks. Such an incentive is currently available to various product categories under the Focus Product Scheme (FPS) in the Foreign Trade Policy.rnUnder FPS, the exports of notified products are entitled for 'Duty Credit scrip', equivalent to 2 and 5 per cent of FoB value of exports. The 'Duty Credit scrip' can be set off against duty liabilities, or can be traded.
