Algorithm for binary word recognition suited to ultrafast nonlinear optics

An algorithm is proposed for binary word recognition requiring only a single logical AND operation at the bit level. The AND recognition, represented by the scalar product of two optical fields, is fundamental to all ultrafast nonlinear optical phenomena.
