Optically transparent nodes for photonic packet-switched ring networks

摘要

Two novel optically transparent nodes for photonic ring networks are described. The network allows different nodes to communicate at different bit rates, allowing high bit rate nodes to operate simultaneously with low bit rate nodes. Operation of the two nodes is demonstrated experimentally.
