Design requirements for an integrated acoustic impedance matching layer

The design of an integrated acoustic impedance matching layer suitable for the construction of ultrasonic transducers is described. The electrical and acoustical design requirements for an efficient and controlled means of transferring acoustic energy are described. Results showing the impulse response for a transducer with an integrated impedance matching layer are presented.
