摘要

An MOVPE vertical coupler structure is used to provide efficient coupling between InP/InGaAsP optoelectronic integrated circuit (OEIC) waveguides and cleaved monomode fibres. A 2 dB improvement in the coupling efficiency of TE polarised light of wavelength 1.55 mu m is demonstrated. The structure does not require any additional growth steps, and is compatable with vertically integrated detector structures.
