The propagation characteristics of a cylindrical waveguide made from a frequency selective surface (FSS) is computed. The FSS is a free standing strip grating where the elements are periodically arranged in the phi direction. The analysis is based on cylindrical and periodic (Floquet mode) wave expansions. The mode content is presented as a function of the radius to wavelength ratio. The cutoff frequencies depend on the periodicity of the array.
