8/spl times/16 delivery-and-coupling type optical switches for a 320 Gbit/s throughput optical path cross-connect system

Four sets of 8/spl times/16 delivery-and-coupling type optical switches for a 320 Gbit/s throughput optical path cross-connect system were developed using planar-lightwave-circuit technologies. An average ON/OFF ratio of 42.1 dB was achieved.
