Outage probability of cellular radio systems using maximal ratio combining in Rayleigh fading channel with multiple interferers

The performance of digital cellular radio systems with maximal ratio combining (MRC) diversity is analysed in a flat-fading Rayleigh channel with cochannel interference and additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN). Closed-form expressions are derived for the outage probability in the presence of multiple independent Rayleigh faded interferers.
