Dynamic range of multisection laser in millimetre-wave fibre-radio uplink

Two modulation schemes for multi-channel transmission incorporating a multi-section laser in the uplink of a millimetre-wave fibre-radio system are presented, and the spurious free dynamic range (SFDR) of the laser determined. An SFDR for the multi-section laser of <86 dBHz/sup 2/3/ was measured for both modulation techniques.
