Augmentation of crossed-slot antenna with inverted-L wires for enhancement of hemispherical coverage

Investigations of improvements to the hemispherical coverage that can be achieved by augmenting a cavity-backed crossed-slot antenna with inverted-L wire structures are presented. It is found that significant improvements to the axial ratio coverage can be achieved while co-polar directivity coverage is practically unaffected.
