Liner electro-optic (EO) constants r13 and r33, have been investigated in 30BaO-20TiO2-50SiO2 glass ceramics with oriented crystalline layers using a Mach-Zehnder interferometer at 0.633 ;C;m wavelength. The EO constants have been measured at 10¿1000 Hz frequency of the applied voltage, and typical values of r13 and r33 at 100 Hz are 3.15u000b1;0.04 and 1.00/plusmn/0.02 pm/V, respectively. It has been found that these values are approximately 58¿64% in r13 and 59% in r33 compared with those in fresnoite single crystals.
