A russian icebreaker returned safely to port in Argentina last week after being stranded in heavy pack ice in Antarctica with more than a hundred tourists on board.rnOwned by the Far Eastern Shipping Company and operated by Quark Expeditions, the Kapitan Khlebnikov was trapped in the Weddell Sea, just off Snow Hill Island. Poor visibility and ice pressure left the icebreaker unable to move for a full week, while the crew waited for a change in wind direction and current to relieve the pressure.
