END-TO-END DIGITAL PRODUCTION

End-to-end digital TV production is becoming a reality. The season finale of 'House', starring Hugh Laurie (pictured above), was shot using Canon digital SLR cameras more often found taking stills at sports events. The cameras were chosen partly because they werernsmall, which was handy in the collapsed building where the episode was set, and partly as a test of an all-digital production flow. The action was recorded on Compact Flash cards and the data was copied straight from the cards into the production system.
