Bae systems engineers and scientists from the company's Advanced Technology Centre in Bristol have been helping the GB Taekwondo team gain a competitive edge through an evaluation of the electronic scoring vest that is used in major international competitions. With the new system introduced just a few years ago, fighters wear special electronic socks that deliver a coded signal when they strike sensors on the opponent's vest, but the sport has never fully understood how this functions and how to fully optimise appropriate tactics.
