AFRICAN UNDERSEA CABLES BUILD-OUT 2013-14

The diagram above gives a simplified general indication of how Africa and some of its neighbouring islands have (or are set to) become ringed by high-speed, high-capacity subsea communications cables. The design capacities of these vary, but they will provide the continent with entry points for the inland comms infrastructure, and links to overseas markets. Submarine connections will, over time, build-out into the continent's interior territories.
