摘要

Most of the design efforts and volume production of capacitors in the world involve devices with rated voltages of less than 30 Vdc. While low-voltage capacitors are highly applicable for coupling/driving the numerous low-voltage devices available today, the power bus itself needs to be at a much higher voltage to produce the maximum efficiencies. History has shown that, in the case of high-voltage applications, the use of polymer-film capacitor technology is a necessary requirement to have reliable, energy-efficient designs and avoid the inherent pitfalls of various capacitor technologies.
