Applied Ideas: An Informal Platform for New Ideas

For the third consecutive year, Maxim Integrated Products (Sunnyvale, CA and Theale, UK) is pleased to join Electronic Engineering in sponsoring the Applied Ideas award. The award, for the best idea published between October 1995 to September 1996, is an "LTE 5000" notebook computer from Compaq Computer Corporation: Three MAX797 chips from Maxim provide power management for the Pentium μP and other internal ICs, and Maxim's MAX211 provides an RS-232 serial data interface.
