Integrated circuit PWM solenoid drivers

摘要

Power constraints and heat dissipation limits are the major parameters to be considered in solenoid drive circuit design. Leaving the drive circuit as a simple switch, either mechanical or electronic, can result in excessive coil heating. This paper discusses how the use of control features available on modern PWM ICs can be used to produce efficient, low dissipation and reliable solenoid drive circuits.
