This feature describes a new platform for the development and design of DSP-based communications systems. Called ComStruct, it is based on Texas Instruments' DSP hardware and an open standards based software framework. The philosophy divides the DSP design problem into easily manageable modules and then provides the means to bring them seamlessly together for a design. The design of digital signalling processing (DSP) based systems for telecommunications is not simple; BlueWave Systems have set themselves the task of changing that situation. The vehicle for that change is a new product called "ComStruct", a set of DSP system building blocks, that by de-skilling the design process, will provide its users with a means to quickly develop and deploy DSP based telecommunications and wireless subsystems. ComStruct provides an open standards-based framework that BlueWave claim can act as the means to perfectly match the users communications application with leading edge silicon processing power.
