SIA chief: Government inertia threatens U.S. technology lead

The U.S. Semiconductor Industry Association blasted the U.S. government for not taking more action this year to enhance America's competitiveness in the global economy. The SIA also warned that if immediate action is not taken, funding for basic research at universities and the national laboratories will fall far short of the levels promised by the administration and Congress.
