By now, the concept of a global multiscreen video universe, with content flying to and from TV, PC and mobile devices worldwide, is not unfamiliar. New video technologies like AVC/H.264 and delivery infrastructures like IPTV and mobile TV broadcast have given rise to an explosion of possibilities for video delivery in a variety of settings. But the common technologies allowing for this phenomenon can · obscure the complex market reality of extreme regional diversity, including regulatory, infrastructure and cultural differences. In this context, content providers, equipment vendors and service providers must shape their strategies based on regional specificities rather than on a universal idea of the three-screen context.
