Simulating and verifying complex, large-scale analog/RF circuits using Spice tools

Spice has been the mainstay tool of analog and RF designers for more than 25 years. During that time, analog- and RF-circuit complexity has grown—and circuit geometries have shrunk—by several orders of magnitude, yet Spice simulators have realized only incremental improvements. The result is run-times that can take hours, days or even weeks, even for pre-layout simulation of complex blocks such as PLLs, sig-ma-delta A/D converters, PHYs and Tx/Rx chains.
