You no longer have to worry about those thieves who are just itching to get at your laptop. You don't have to wonder if your children will understand how the Earth looked millions of years ago, either. This year, over 1900 students submitted photos and plans for 1432 prototype entries to the Duracell/National Science Teachers Association invention competition, the largest and oldest contest of its kind in the country. One hundred of these projects were selected as finalists, and their inventors were awarded savings bonds valued from $500 to $20,000.
