Results on electrical conduction in thin films of a molecular complex TMB (tetramethylbenzidine) and TCNQ (tetracyano-quinodimethane) are presented. The films were obtained by simultaneous deposition of a donor (TMB) and acceptor (TCNQ) on a single substrate. Direct current conductivity was measured for films of thickness from 1.5 μm to 63.75 μm in the temperature range from 113 K to 24 K. Transport of charge carriers in the bulk of a polycrystalline molecular complex proceeds by hopping with some contribution of the Poole-Frenkel effect. Charge carriers injection is contributed by the Schottky effect. The obtained activation energies are ranging from 0.146 eV to 0.73 eV.
