1. Lockheed Martin borrowed technology from its Sniper Advanced Targeting Pod for EOTS development, hence the EOTS nickname "son of Sniper" 2. EOTS is part of the F-35 Electro-Optical Sensor System (EOSS); EOSS also includes the Northrop Grumman Distributed Aperture System (DAS) 3. Planned USAF F-35 procurement set at 1,763 aircraft; USN/USMC procurement set at 680 aircraft.
