Note: This analysis defines the Airborne Electro-Optical market as the 32 programs reviewed in preparing this report. As such, this analysis should not be viewed as a breakdown of every airborne EO program in production or development. In the context of this analysis, governments are forecast to spend approximately $11,305 billion on airborne EO systems during the 2012-2021 period. This total can be divided into five segments. The largest share is made up of targeting systems, a category that is expected to account for over 54.5 percent of the total. The second group, infrared countermeasure (IRCM) programs, is expected to account for approximately 19.1 percent of the value of the systems covered by this analysis.
