The following is a listing of additional electro-optical technologies that may bear further study in the near future. Many of these systems and programs are in various stages of study and development and may never progress beyond research. Other systems may have a limited production run for a specific military requirement and therefore are not worthy of production forecasts at this time. In some cases, the information presented herein is the most pertinent on a subject that is available through open sources.Items in this appendix that develop enough in size and scope to justify extended multiyear production or funding forecasts will be removed from the list and turned into full-fledged reports. Candidates for full reports would include some of the larger U.S. military programs for which R&D funding has already been scheduled for the next several years.As the electro-optical sector is a constantly evolving and research-intensive area of defense, Forecast International believes this appendix is a meaningful way of augmenting the Electro-Optical Systems Forecast and providing clients with an indication of future directions. This appendix offers a snapshot of the growing parts of the EO sector without unnecessarily expanding the size of books with reports on systems that may never come to light. Readers should keep in mind, however, that this is not a comprehensive listing of all the electro-optical systems in the world. It is more an indication of systems that may bear further study.
