With the progressive and pragmatic policies of the Government of India, and with the urgency felt by policy-makers for faster implementation of power sector reforms, the transformer industry is on fact track for the past couple of years. The industry is having an impressive growth rate of 15.73% during 2005-06 and a cumulative average growth rate of 9% over the past 5 years. The first quarter of the current financial year looks brighter, with the industry performing at a growth rate in excess of 25%.
