Loss In The Electricity Distribution Sector A Burning Issue

Loss in the Electricity Distribution Sector has become a burning issue since long. The major constituent is the theft of electricity. The theft takes place by way of hooking from the LT overhead line, from the feeder pillar box in case or underground LT cable or by way of tampering the meter installed in the premises of the consumer. It is revealed that electrical energy costing few thousand Cr. of Rupee per annum has been stolen by the miscreants throughout the country. It is not only a social evil but also a threat to the National Economy.
