Siemens Infrastructure & Cities sector to build, modernize substations for Bangladesh Power Development Board

Siemens Ltd., has won a contract worth Rs 86.6 crores from Bangladesh Power Development Board, Dhaka, to construct six new 33/11 kV substations and upgrade 14 similar substations. The project is to be delivered on a turnkey basis. This is the single largest turnkey order received by the Infrastructure & Cities Sector of Siemens Ltd. for gas-insulated switchgear panels. Dr Armin Bruck, MD, Siemens Ltd. said, "Bangladesh, like other emerging economies of the world, faces the challenges of high power system losses, low efficiencies and erratic power supply.
