Cable Fault Locator System in Underground Distribution Network

摘要

Different techniques for locating underground cable faults are discussed. Signal transmission technique and voltage drop principles are useful for locating open circuit and short circuit fault detection as well as for cable route tracing purpose. Proposed technique having potential for commercial use with field application and can lead to portable fault locator equipment. There is requirement of greater value of supply voltage and higher signal strength for commercial application of proposed system.
